Biography

Efim Zelmanov received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Novosibirsk State University in 1980 and his M.S. from Novosibirsk State University in 1977. He is an expert in Algebra.

Zelmanov was appointed as the Rita L. Atkinson Chair in Mathematics at UCSD in 2002. Before his appointment at the UCSD, Zelmanov was a Professor at Yale University, 1995-2002, University of Chicago, 1994-1995, University of Wisconsin - Madison, 1990-1994, Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, 1980-present.
