Faculty Online Resources
This site contains information about online education tools used by the UCSD Department of Mathematics. We currently have information for the following topics:
GradeScope facilitates grading exams and assignments by allowing instructors and TAs to upload scans of the exams or assignments. Grading is then done online, using electronic grading rubrics.
TritonEd (formerly known as Ted) is the UCSD customized version of BlackBoard. It is supported by the university's Educational Technology Services (ETS)
(formerly known as ACMS). TritonEd is a course management system. It is primarily used for the GradeCenter, which keeps track of all your student's scores, but it has a wide variety of other tools, which will allow you to send email to your entire class, post announcements and other educational materials, etc. TritonEd is a secure place to post sensitive materials, such as assignments, solutions, etc., because only your students (and other authorized users) can access it.
WebAssign is an online homework system. WebAssign is not operated by a publisher, but works with various publishers to provide online homework for many textbooks. The UCSD Mathematics Department currently supports the use of WileyPlus in Math 20ABC. (WebAssign access codes come bundled with the textbooks at the UCSD Bookstore.) If you are teaching one of these classes and wish to use WebAssign, you can set up a course by contacting our WebAssign representative.
WebWork is an online homework system that is hosted at UCSD by ETS and can be requested at the start of the quarter when making a request for TritonEd. (More on this to come.)
WileyPlus is an online homework system hosted by Wiley Publishing. The UCSD Mathematics Department currently supports the use of WileyPlus in Math 10ABC and Math 20D. (WileyPlus access codes come bundled with the textbooks at the UCSD Bookstore.) If you are teaching one of these classes and wish to use WileyPlus, you can set up a course by contacting our WileyPlus representative.
