01/09/2014 In order to make sure your emails get through to me, use only your "@ucsd.edu" address.
01/09/2014 If you added the class late, email me to add you to WeBWorK. Also, make sure you have access to the course in TED.
01/06/2014 The first hw is now available on WeBWorK. It is due on Friday, 1/10 at 11:59pm. Click on the tab on the right hand corner to go to the website. Your username is the same as in TED (e.g. scooper if your UCSD email is scooper@ucsd.edu) and your password is your PID all in small caps (e.g. a12345678).
01/02/2014 WeBWorK (the online homework system) will be functional next week. Do not worry if you cannot log into it just yet. I will let you know when it becomes active.
01/01/2014 You need to buy the iClicker2 and register it in TED in order to make sure you get the clicker credit. Anything else (iclicker, smartphone app, register through the iclicker website, etc) won't work. Some of you might have done something different with iclickers (e.g. register them through iclicker's website) in a previous class, but that won't work in this class. You are required to have the clicker remote with you in class every day starting Wednesday January 8. You must make sure that the clicker remote is registered on TED and you are getting the credit for your answers by January 31. The class rosters won't be updated after that date.
01/01/2014 The required textbook is
Calculus: Early Transcendentals, second edition, by Jon Rogawski, published by W.H. Freeman and Company, 2012.
If you do not already have the above textbook, the multivariable portion ( Multivariable Calculus: Early Transcendentals, second edition, by Jon Rogawski, published by W.H. Freeman and Company, 2012) suffices.
We will cover parts of chapters 11-15, which are contained in
both books. If you happen to have the right edition for one of
them, keep that. If not, the Multivariable Calculus is
lighter and cheaper. And quite sufficient.
