Group Actions in Geometry Seminar

Wed 3-4pm (2-235), Fr 2-3pm (2-135)
Contact: Alvaro Pelayo (apelayo@math.mit.edu)

This new seminar focuses on the role that group actions play in Geometry and Dynamical Systems, especially in the symplectic setting, with some talks in adjacent areas. Speakers are asked to devote at least half of the talk to concepts that can be understood by a graduate student with basic knowledge of differential geometry and some symplectic geometry.

There will be a mixture of research talks and talks which will focus on the statements/proofs of some famous results in symplectic group actions (marked with *), the proofs of which have been very useful in later research. For some of the talks you can click on the Talk Title to get a ``pdf'' file of the talk. The schedule for this semester will be the following.
