Lecture note materials will likely be posted on Canvas but here is an early version of the notes.

Here is what we did on the first day:

1.  Showed this web-page and reminded people to try to get the book.

2. Mentioned we will be using Canvas and Piazza in this course.

3. Homeworks are due on Gradescope by 11:00PM on Thursdays. (More time if needed for Homework 0.) PDF files only will be accepted. You may type your solutions, write them on an I-PAD, or on paper and then scan (via your phone) to PDF files.  See instructions in Homework 0.  Again you must submit a PDF file.

4. Lectures will be split into topics and per-recorded from now on.  My advice would be to look at the upcoming homework on Friday and start to view the relevant lecture topics for the homework.  Then work on the homework problems as early as possible to find out where you are going to need help.  My lecture times on Mondays and Wednesday will now basically be office hours.

5. Discussion sections will meet by Zoom as planned this weak. After this weak, each TA will run only one formal discussion section and then use the freed up time for more office hours.

6. The format of the tests is still up in the air a bit.  For the moment please keep the times as shown on the Web-page open for taking the midterm and the Final.

7.  Regarding Academic Integrity, Please Please Please,  play by the rules.  Collaboration with other students on Homework is allowed and even encouraged BUT you must write your own solutions in your own words.  Basically,  in the end you must do your own work.

8. We then discussed briefly what the course was about.  See the pdf-notes above.
