Prerequisite Math 140 (Calculus I) or equivalent.

Exercises
  1. Worksheets. Distributed and collected in each discussion class. Each assignment is graded. The three worksheets with the lowest score will be dropped.
  2. WebAssign. Assigned and graded twice a week. Usually due 8:00 am of Tuesdays and Thursdays. Visit http://www.math.umd.edu/undergraduate/webassign/ for help with WebAssign. The three web assignments with the lowest score will be dropped.
  3. Suggested practice problems. Assigned but not collected neither graded. Most of the worksheet and exam problems are similar to practice problems.
Exams There will be three midterm and one final, close-book and close-note exams. No calculators will be allowed in any of these exams. The final exam will be cumulative.
        Midterm exam 1: Friday, February 13.
        Midterm exam 2: Friday, March 12.
        Midterm exam 3: Friday, April 16.
        Final exam: 1:30-3:30, Thursday, May 13.
Note: neither rescheduled nor make-up exams will be allowed unless a written verification of a valid excuse (such as hospitalization, family emergency, religious observance, court appearance, etc.) is provided.
Grading The final course grade will be determined based on the worksheets, web assignments, and exams with the following weights: worksheets - 12.5%, web assignments - 12.5%, midterm exam 1 - 15%, midterm exam 2 - 15%, midterm exam 3 - 15%, and final exam - 30%.
