How nice of you to drop by. Not to be rude, but I'm curious: what brought you here? Some random link, like a leaf that happened to catch your eye while wandering an autumnal internet landscape? Google, that magical repository of all that's good and bad and strange? Something math-related, perhaps? That would be exciting. I really do more than just math, you know. Regardless, my warmest welcomes.
I suppose if you're still reading this, you might be interested to know something about me. I grew up in Washington, DC (16th Street Heights, specifically), and currently reside in Richmond, capital of the lovely Commonwealth of Virginia, having also lived in Connecticut, Boston, England, and San Diego. I have many likes and dislikes, which I shall not force-feed you, but which may provide some elementary insight. Otherwise, the rest of this web site is a general (and I think reasonably well-balanced) smattering of me. Or at the very least how I perceive me. I hope you enjoy it. Because, let's face it: it's fun to click stuff.

By the way, I would be absolutely elated to hear from you: dclark "at" math.ucsd.edu.

A note on the photographs: All the black and white images (except the one above) on this website were scanned (with varying degrees of success) from silver prints made the old-fashioned way: with a clunky enlarger, slippery tongs, and foul-smelling chemicals, in a darkroom. Keep it real, baby.
