- page 312: From (8.7) to just before (8.8), indices in g are
off by 1.
- page 336: Exercise 8.4.4 does not make sense.
- page 339: Exercise 8.5.1 should refer to theorems, not theorem
and lemma.
- page 348: The third line line of the first displayed equation
is correct, but is misleading. A better form appears in the solution
to Exercise 8.6.4.
- page 349: The first of equations (8.36) should have X+, not
X-, on the right side.
- page 372: There is a missing right parenthesis in Exercise
9.2.9(a).
- page 382: Add to the hint for Exercise 9.2.15 that you may
want to try something else instead.
- page 393: In the formula displayed formula for Bel, change
gamma(T) to delta(T) and delta(S) to gamma(S).
- page 476: Exercise 11.5.3 is an accidental holdover from
an earlier version of the chapter. It should be deleted.
- page 481: Exercise 11.6.6(a): "when s is near 0 or 1"
should be "when f(s) is near 0 or 1"
- page 505: Exercise 12.1.5: The first part of the definition
of Z(e) should be E(X | (Y=Y(e))^B)
[ X(e) should be X and a ( is missing. ]
- page 541: Exercise 12.4.8: The middle expression in the displayed
double equality should be deleted.
- page 570: Exercise 13.2.5: The final exponent should be -x^2/2,
not -x^2.
