Here are some additional references I've come across since
writing the text. It undoubtedly omits important references
since I've not kept up with the literature.
- "A tutorial on default logics" by G. Antoniou,
ACM Computing Surveys 31 (1999) 337-359.
- Nonmonotonic Logics: Basic Concepts, Results and Techniques
by K. Schlechta, Springer(1997). Q 339.S35.1997. A
review describes the 40+ page introduction as well written, but
does not recommend the rest of the book.
- The Nature of Statistical Learning Theory (2nd
edition) by V. N. Vapnik, Springer (2000). Q 325.7 V37 2000.
Chapters on SVMs (Support Vector Machines) have been added.
- Bayesian Statisistics: An Introduction (2nd
edition) by P. M. Lee, Arnold (????).
- The Uncertain Reasoner's Companion: A Mathematical
Persective by J.B. Paris, Cambrige (1994). QA 9 P28 1994. Review:
"an outstanding mathematical treatment of uncertainty in
knowledge-based systems."
