Grading: Your grade will be determined by the following elements:
1. Homework (10%): There will be Homework assignments throughout the quarter. I will announce them in class and post them here. They are to be turned in on Tuesdays in Section.
2. Weekly Quizzes (25%): Each week in section you will take a short quiz over the weekly reading. The quiz problems will be straightforward variants of the exercises in the primer.
3. Midterm (25%): There will be a midterm on Friday of the 7th week.
4. Final Exam (40%): Friday, June 10, 2016, 8:00 - 11:00 AM.
A total course score will be computed from the above components (weighted as indicated). This score will then be curved to determine a letter grade. I have no axe to grind here, I expect I will curve the class around a B- (maybe a B if the TA and I feel there is a high level of effort). If you are struggling with the material and want to avoid getting less than a C-, it is important that you display effort by taking all the quizzes, turning in the homework, and asking questions when you don't understand.
