Title: An Introduction to Biostatistics
Abstract:
In this seminar we aim to give a first introduction to the field of
biostatistics, starting with what statistics is about. In a non-technical
fashion, we will elaborate on three areas of biostatistics: clinical trials,
survival analysis and computational biology (bioinformatics). Time
permitting,
we will also briefly describe the biostatistics graduate programs around the
country, and the excellent career opportunities with a biostatistics degree.
