Guidelines for first midterm: Wednesday April 21 in class.

What you may use:  NO books, calculators, cell phones, or notes except 1 piece of paper, 8.5Ó x 11Ó, written on one side only.

What to bring:  You will have to supply your own paper, bluebook preferred.  Alternatively, you can bring loose sheets of paper and staple them together.  Sharp-eyed monitors will check that nothing has been previously written in your bluebook!

Time:  Midterm will start promptly at 11:00. All papers must be turned in by 11:55.

What you should know: The questions for the midterm will be based on material in Goodman, Chapters 7, 8, and 9, as well as anything else covered in class.  (We skipped Section 8.5 on nonhomogeneous Poisson processes, and this will not be on the midterm.)
