Math 220c is the third quarter of a one year graduate course in complex analysis in one variable. Material from 220a and 220b will be assumed when needed.

Text: John B. Conway , Functions of One Complex Variable, I, 2nd edition

Topics for Math 220C

(1) Harmonic functions (Chapter X in text)
(2) Analytic Continuation (Chapter IX in text)
(3) Runge's Theorem (Chapter VIII in text)

We will not have time to do all the material in these three chapters.

There will be no formal exams given in this course. The course grade will be based on grades on problem sets and the grade on the Complex Analysis Qualifying Exam (a 3 hour exam that will be given on a date between May 22 and June 2, to be announced soon). For students who do not plan to take the qualifying exam, other arrangements will be made.
