About My Photography
Photography has been a hobby of mine off and on since early high school. These galleries are constantly updated (See the news page for specific information.) Most of the images in the galleries are from scanned negatives. The actual prints look much nicer, with greater detail and depth of highlight and shadow. Browse the galleries. If you like what you see, prints are available.

Medium Format Work
A while ago I bought a Diana camera off of ebay. It's a cheap plastic toy medium format camera from the sixties. The Diana has three apertures (denoted by a sun, a sun with some clouds, and some clouds) and two shutter speeds (one is about 1/100th of a second, I think. the other is bulb). I also have a Holga, but haven't shot as much with it. The photos in these galleries are made with a Diana, Holga, or Kodak Brownie Hawkeye, all of which are cheap plastic toy cameras. The experimental shots were made by running 35mm film through the medium format camera. If you want more information on how to do this, email me. The San Francisco Street Gallery was shot solely with the Kodak Brownie Hawkeye. None are digitally altered (save the ocassional brightness/contrast adjustment). Nature: 01. Experimental: 02. Misc: 03. San Francisco: 04.

Traditional 35mm Work:
I got my first SLR for Christmas when I was sixteen. I recently sold that old Minolta and bought a Nikon N90s and a couple of lenses. My baby, the Nikon is so good to me. I also have a lomo. It's fun, but not as much fun as the Diana. Goleta Pier: 01. Deception: 02. Misc Black & White: 03. Misc Color: 04.

Digital Work:
I've had a Nikon Coolpix 800 for about two years now. I mainly use it for the purpose of vanity, hence the self-portraits. I guess I just don't like wasting film on myself. I have done some other random work with it, as you can see in the galleries. Self potraits: 01. Dreams: 02. Misc: 03.

Cross Processing:
In November 2001 I decided to try some cross processing. I shot Kodak Ektachrome 100VS (a slide film meant for E6 processing) and had it processed in C41 chemistry. I overexposed by one stop at the time of exposure and pushed one stop in processing so that the film could handle the cross process. The photos in these galleries have not been digitally alterd except for minor levels adjustments. The spooky radioactive feel of these comes from the cross process. I hope you like them as much as I do! Nostalgia: 01. Alien: 02.

Infrared:
I recently tried color infrared film for the first time. It's interesting stuff, a false color film which renders colors based on infrared radiation rather than visual light reflection. So far I don't have very many infrared shots that I like, but here are a few.

I'd really appreciate critiques of any of my photos, if you have time. Just use the form on the contact page to drop me a line. Thanks!
