- The midterm will be in class on Tuesday, February 19. It will cover
all the material up to and including B-splines. You are allowed one sheet
(letter sized, both sides) of handwritten notes.
- The final will be on Tuesday, March 19, 11:30am to 2:30pm. It will be
comprehensive, and
you are allowed two sheets (letter sized, both sides) of handwritten
notes.

Course Description
- This course focuses on numerical methods for solving nonlinear
equations and optimization problems, and on classical and modern
approximation theory as needed for analyzing numerical methods.
Prerequisites
- MATH 270A or consent of instructor. Programming experience in any
language, e.g., C/C++, FORTRAN, MATLAB.
