Aim and Scope

Mathematical Research Letters (MRL), a publication of International Press, is dedicated to rapid publication of short complete papers of original research in all areas of mathematics. Submissions should not exceed 20 journal pages. Expository papers and research announcements of exceptional interest are also occasionally published. High standards are applied in evaluating submissions; the entire editorial board must approve the acceptance of any paper.

Submission of Manuscripts

All manuscripts must be submitted by email in electronic form as .pdf, .dvi, .ps, or .tex files. Authors may submit manuscripts to any member of the Editorial Board. An electronic copy of the paper should also be sent to the Editors-in-Chief at mrl@ucsd.edu with a clearly identifying subject in the email heading. In most cases, a hard copy is not needed. When the paper is accepted, the authors must provide a source TeX file. (Latex2e is highly preferred, although other TeX formats are acceptable.) Authors will be asked to approve galley proofs posted online. By submitting a manuscript for publication, authors acknowledge that the work is original and is not being submitted to another journal. When a paper is accepted for publication, authors transfer the copyright to International Press. However, they are permitted to reproduce their work for fair use, which should not include any profit making activity. As of 2006, MRL no longer provides authors with physical reprints of their articles.
