Complex numbers and functions. Cauchy theorem and its applications, calculus of residues, expansions of analytic functions, analytic continuation, conformal mapping and Riemann mapping theorem, harmonic functions. Dirichlet principle, Riemann surfaces;

Prerequisites: Undergraduate analysis and Math 220A (or equivalent)

Text Book: Introduction to complex analysis in several variables by L. Hormander, but text book is not necessarily needed. Lecture notes will be provided.


- Extra (Make-up) classes will held on Tuesdays 4-5 pm starting on Jan 28. Location: APM 6402 (or 6218 is 6402 is occupied).
