Instructor and TA office hours: The instructor and TAs hold regular office hours. Students who have questions about the course material are encouraged to attend these office hours. Office hours are also the best times to ask questions about homework problems, although you should not expect the instructor or TA to provide you with answers or solutions to homework problems. The office hour schedule is as follows:
Rong Huang (roh019@ucsd.edu): 11 AM - 12 PM Monday and 4-6 PM Wednesday in APM 2000A
Prajna Bhat (pbhat@ucsd.edu): 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM Thursday in Mayer Hall 5722
Head Lab TA's office hours: The head lab TA holds regular office hours in the computer lab to help students who have questions about the computer lab assignments. The office hour schedule is as follows:
Xiaoou Pan (xip024@ucsd.edu): 2 - 4 PM Wednesday in APM B325
The required textbook is Stats: Data and Models by De Veaux, Velleman, and Bock. You must have the 5th edition of the textbook. If you purchase the textbook from the bookstore, it will include access to MyStatLab. However, MyStatLab will not be necessary for this course. You can rent an electronic version of the textbook for $49 at here, which is sufficient for this course. The international edition of the textbook has different numbers in a few of the problems and is not suitable for this course.
Study Group Sessions are available every Monday from 2 - 3:20 PM in TLC 1505. Contact Pratyusha Meka (pmeka@ucsd.edu) for more details.
