San Diego is in California and is located on the Pacific Coast just north of the border with Mexico. San Diego is a popular tourist destination, hosting miles of scenic beaches as well as attractions such as: Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Wild Animal Park, and Legoland.
The most convenient airport is the San Diego International Airport (Lindbergh Field, code: SAN). Taking a Uber/Lyft rideshare to UCSD or the nearby hotels will be approximately 30 minutes and cost $35-$45 including tip. Also, an airport shuttle is available through Cloud Nine Shuttle. If you are driving down from Irvine, the trip is roughly an hour -- from Los Angeles it is about 2 hours. From Riverside the trip is about 2 hours and from Santa Barbara about 4 hours.

Possible parking are 1) parking lot (303, and 302) on the right hand side of Muir College Dr, - see this pdf map, parking structure on Pangea Dr, or the Gilman (3100 Gilman Dr) parking structure. Parking is no longer free even for the weekend. You may purchase a daily visitor parking at the pay station within each parking lot.The lectures will be held in Natural Science Auditorium (04/13) and Center Hall 105 (04/14) due to campus event happening on 04/13. There are a number of hotels near UCSD. One can book the hotels via priceline or hotel.com to get much better rates. Here is some UCSD Preferred Hotels . The three hotels listed below are in Del Mar, downtown La Jolla near the beach, and La Jolla near campus. There are also Marriott, Embassy Suites, Hyatt Regency, Hilton and other hotels near campus.

While making your reservation mention the UCSD mathematics department and the Southern California Geometric Analysis Seminar - there may be rooms available at the special rate of $99/night. We will try to arrange rides from the Del Mar Inn to campus on Saturday and Sunday mornings. You are also encouraged to use public transportions.
