Homework 1: due Monday, October 13 in class.

A hint was given in class for problem 11 on p. 20.

Homework 2: due Monday, October 27 in class.

p. 51-52: 12, 17, 19*; a hint was given for problem 19 in class. For bonus credit, you could also prove the result in that problem (using a different method) when it is assumed that the X_j have finite variance.
