Required Textbooks:   Differential Geometry of Curves and Surfaces: Revised and Updated Second Edition, by Manfredo do Carmo.

Subject Material:  This course will cover portions of Chapters 1-4 of the text.

Readings and Exercises:   Sections we covered in class will be posed here. I will mostly follow the text so please try to read along. You will also find it helpful to do as many of the exercises as you can.

Grading Policy

Grades will be determined by a curve based on the distribution of class cumulative averages. The cumulative average is computed as follows:
This course will systematically build on material from previous sections as we go along, with a learning curve that will accelerate towards the end of the course. There is only one midterm and a final so no exam grades will be dropped. There will be no makeup exams.
