Reading list

There are very many books on abstract algebra. The best book to learn the material is the one you find the best. Here is a list that very roughly proceeds from more elementary to more sophisticated (but even here you might perceive things differently).

A First Course in Abstract Algebra: John Fraleigh (plus Victor J. Katz, depending on the edition).

A First Course in Abstract Algebra: Joseph Rotman.

Abstract Algebra: Dummit and Foote.

Algebra: Michael Artin
