We will have two in class midterms and one final at the end of the quarter. More information will be posted here when the time comes.

Midterm 1

Your First midterm will be in class on Wednesday Oct. 21. You may bring one 8.5x11in. sheet of handwritten notes (front and back). No calculators or any other electronic devices are allowed and you shouldn't need them.

You must also bring a blue book. You can purchase these at the price center for about 30 cents.

Here is a list of topics that could be on the exam.

You should study by going over lecture notes, practicing problems similar to the examples I've done in class, and redoing homework assignments. If you can do that you should be fine.

Midterm 2

Your second midterm will be in class on Nov. 18. You may bring one 8.5x11in. sheet of handwritten notes (front and back). No calculators or any other electronic devices are allowed and you shouldn't need them.

This midterm will cover sections 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 14.4, 14.6, 14.7 (ignore second order Tayor Polynomials), 15.1, and 15.2.

You must also bring a blue book. You can purchase these at the price center for about 30 cents.

You should study by going over lecture notes, practicing problems similar to the examples I've done in class, and redoing homework assignments. You will probably find this exam to be significantly harder than the first simply because the material is harder.

You should make sure you can take partial derivatives. Everything we have done since midterm 1 relies on this.

Practice exams from previous quarters (I will post solutions to these on TED as soon as I get a chance):
