Jane Street Graduate Research Fellowship

  • The Jane Street Graduate Research Fellowship is now open. Applications for 2025 are due by November 21, 2024.

Oceanids Memorial Fellowship - One (1) Awards at $3,000

  • This fellowship will be awarded to a graduate student who has exhibited academic excellence and financial need at the General Campus of UC San Diego or the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Nominees must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. 

Frieda Daum Urey Academic Fellowship - Three (3) Awards at $3,000 each

  • This fellowship will be awarded to a graduate student who has had a significant hiatus in their studies since undergraduate education, and subsequently enrolls in graduate or professional studies on the General Campus or The Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and for whom the award of the fellowship will make a critical financial difference in their ability to attend UC San Diego.

D. E. Shaw Group’s 2025 Fellowships

  • Fellows participate in interactive seminars led by notable speakers and our staff. They’ll also spend time with senior leaders at the firm, discuss career paths in finance with recent hires and long-tenured employees, and develop relationships with students from schools around the country. There’s a $1,500 stipend, and we’ll cover their travel and accommodations.

  • The Department of Philosophy at Carnegie Mellon University hosts a summer school in logic and formal epistemology for promising undergraduates in philosophy, mathematics, computer science, linguistics, economics, and other sciences.

McNair Scholar's Program

  • The McNair Program is a federally funded program that provides opportunities for faculty-mentored research experiences and training to prepare students to apply for PhD programs in all fields and for careers in research.  To be eligible, students should have junior or higher standing by the end of this quarter and should be either (or both) first-generation college students from low-income households and/or members of under-represented ethnic groups.
  • Applications received by October 31 will be reviewed immediately on November 1.  We will continue to accept and review applications on a rolling basis until November 21st or until we have formed a full cohort.

UC President’s Dissertation Year Fellowship

  • The Fletcher Jones Fellowship Program, which is supported by gifts received from the Fletcher Jones Foundation of Los Angeles, offers one of the University's most prestigious and generously funded fellowships. Friends of the International Center Fellowships

  • The Friends of the International Center (FIC) was a non-profit, all-volunteer organization founded in 1961 (dissolved September 2021) whose mission statement was to support international education, to foster friendship, understanding, and cooperation within the international community, and to create a meeting place on the UC San Diego campus for people who share these aims.   • The Davis, Noyes, and Stacey fellowships are available for 2024-25. Eligible students may receive a maximum of one quarter of resident tuition/fees per academic year and amounts vary depending upon availability of funds. The GROW conference

UC President's Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting Fellows

The UC Office of the Chief Investment Officer will provide funds for up to 20 students and postdoctoral fellows to travel to Lindau, Germany to participate in the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. NCI Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Fellow Transition Award (F99/K00)

Guru Gobind Singh Fellowship

In 1988 the University of California received a bequest from the late Mr. Karam Singh Maughan to establish an endowment to support graduate fellowships, named for Guru Gobind Singh, the Sikh religious leader. Awards are intended for graduates of universities in a specific area of India and Pakistan (see map on Collab page) for the purpose of pursuing graduate study at the University of California.
