Math 3c - Fall 2016: Exam Information

On this page, you will find general information for the exams. When it gets closer to exam time, I will post study materials, which will include sample exams. After the exams are returned, I will post exam solutions for you to study from.

This course will have two midterm exams, and one final exam.

The midterms will be held in class on October, 21st and November, 18th and are worth 20% of your final grade each*.

Please bring a blue book to the exams! They can be purchased from the bookstore for a couple of cents.

You may bring one 8.5x11in. sheet paper of handwritten notes (NO PHOTOCOPIES). You will be required to turn in your note sheet with your blue book.

Your final exam will take place in CSB 001 on December 6th from 11:30am to 2:30pm. The final exam is mandatory, and is worth 40% of your final grade*. It is your responsibility to ensure that you attend the final exam. If you cannot attend the final exam, you must unenroll from the course.

*Alternatively, your best midterm is worth 20% of your final grade, and your final exam is worth 60% of your grade. I will automatically use the grading scheme that gives you the most beneficial for you.

Math 3c - Fall 2016: Midterm 1 study material

Below are two exams for math 3c that were given in a previous quarters by Dr. Mark Kempton, as well as a collection of practice questions that were written by Dr. Katie Walsh when she taught the class in 2012.

Since I did not write those exams, I will not promise that our exam will have the same feel as these ones. However, if you can solve (and understand) these problems, then you should be in good standing for the midterm.

Added a pdf of topics we discussed in this course along with some practice problems.

Math 3c - Fall 2016: Midterm 2 study material

Below are some mock test questions I wrote based on the Chapter 5, 6, and 7 material. Please be able to answer these questions.
